Our Programs

1
Golf Practices at
Driving Range
Our weekly practices are the heartbeat of VGP.
Veterans of all skill levels come together to learn, improve, and support one another in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.
2
Onsite Lessons
Volunteer coaches provide guidance on fundamentals, etiquette, and course strategy — while fellowship happens naturally between swings and conversations.
3
Play Golf
VGP hosts regular playdays and tee times for its members. These rounds give veterans the chance to enjoy the course, apply what they’ve learned, and build stronger connections through friendly competition and shared experience.
About Veterans Golf Program
Our Mission
Veterans Golf Program (VGP) exists to support veterans through connection, wellness, and community — using golf as the bridge.
Our mission is simple:
Golf. Fellowship. Veterans.
We believe that when veterans come together in a stress-free, supportive environment, real healing happens. Golf provides structure, challenge, and focus — but the true impact comes from the relationships built along the way.
Who We Are
Veterans Golf Program is a community of men and women who have served our country and now support one another in the next chapter of life.
We serve nearly 200 veterans and operate out of Mather Golf Course in Rancho Cordova, thanks to a valued partnership that allows us to use professional facilities for training, practice, and fellowship.
There is no cost to participate.
Volunteer coaches provide instruction, and equipment is available for veterans who need it.
We welcome all skill levels — from first-time golfers to seasoned players. No experience required. Just show up.
What We Do
Beyond golf, VGP prioritizes veterans’ essential needs:
Food. Shelter. Transportation. Medical & mental health referrals.
These needs aren’t discovered through paperwork or pressure — they surface naturally through fellowship and trust. As veterans connect, real conversations happen. That’s where we learn how to help.
